Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

Skinllergic Cam is built around a simple principle: your allergen data is yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, where it lives, and what we (the developer) can or cannot see.

Summary

  • Ingredient recognition (OCR) runs on your device. Photos and ingredient text never leave the device.
  • AI ingredient explanations use Apple Intelligence on-device. No cloud AI is involved.
  • Your personal allergen profile (family members, allergens, scanned products, scan history) is stored in your private iCloud container — encrypted by Apple. The developer cannot read it.
  • Sign in uses Sign in with Apple. We never see your name, email, or Apple ID.
  • No third-party analytics, no ad SDKs, no trackers.
  • Vendor product data (used by the optional recommendations feature) is stored on Supabase and is not linked to your personal profile.

1. Data the app handles

On-device only: photos you take to scan ingredients, recognized text from those photos, AI-generated ingredient explanations, OCR language preferences. None of this is uploaded to any server — including ours.

iCloud private container: family member profiles, allergen list, saved products, scan history, app settings. This data syncs across your own Apple devices through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Apple holds the encryption keys; we have no access.

Vendor data (separate): the optional recommendations feature reads a public catalog of skincare products from Supabase. It does not write anything about you to that catalog.

2. Sign in with Apple

We use Sign in with Apple as the sole sign-in method. Apple does not share your email or name with us unless you explicitly choose to. The app only sees an opaque user identifier used for routing iCloud data.

3. What the developer can see

We cannot see your scanned photos, recognized ingredients, family member names, allergens, products, or scan history. All of these live either on your device or in your iCloud private container.

We can see aggregate App Store metrics (downloads, country, version) provided by Apple to all developers. These are not linked to individual users.

4. Third-party services

Supabase: stores the public vendor product catalog used by the recommendations feature. No personal data is sent to Supabase. Apple iCloud / CloudKit: stores your personal allergen data in a private container encrypted by Apple. Apple Sign In: handles authentication.

There are no other third-party services. No Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Facebook SDK, no advertising SDKs.

5. Children

Skinllergic Cam is designed to help parents track allergens for their children. The parent operates the app on their own device with their own Apple ID; the child does not interact with the app directly. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

6. Your rights

You can delete all of your data at any time by signing out and removing the app, or by signing out and deleting your iCloud data for the app via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
